What is an LC 79? Toyota? This is a misleading post and should be deleted.

Sorry - I used to drive a proper off road capable 4x4 - a Discovery 4 - so I don't understand these Toyota and Jeep jokes. :-)

They are tough old things but they face a couple of issues:

The biggest customers are mines. Without mining they would sell even less than they do now. Then there’s the safety issue. Mines, particularly in Oz, are only wanting 5 star rated vehicles. Then they need to be able to tow more, which the LC can’t. Emissions have become a major issue globally. They are losing too many budgies underground, which the environmental activists don’t like.
