I can think of a few red caps that i would definitely sell these to.

Can not believe that people still use this method, even had a a fight with my dad using this method a few weeks ago, response was simply "i have been doing it like this for years." So change or willingness to change stays the biggest issue

It hasn’t been rated, that’s the issue.

A recovery with that thing is a NO in my book.

Towing someone with it when hooked up to a Rated D Shackle and onto a recovery point....well. I would use it as such and only if the vehicle I am towing is lighter and smaller than mine

Rubbish for recoveries, but I think great for general towing/pulling.
I refuse to be POLITICALLY CORRECT to impress others - Deal with it

What about sudden jerks while towing, can’t that be a potential issue?

Yes it definitely is. The shock loading with normal towing is actually quite high and its very repetitive.

The problem is that eventually some chop, probably with additional stickers like star or a faux mud splatter, will use it to snatch.
Unless it has a tag attached stating 'Dangerous - Do NOT use for recovery' - the thing will eventually result in a death or injury...

Can undoubtedly be an issue. Especially if the jerk is driving the tow vehicle!
