How many Cruisers / Patrols do you have ?

There has been some speculating. But we need to get totals... This is an empirical study.

When I speak of Cruisers vs Patrol - I'm speaking about the solid axel models. ie: 7* series cruisers, and any Patrols bare the Y62. :)

Jakes the difference it's named Land Cruiser Prado.

2013 Suzuki Jimny, Ratel (larger than life),

Series

Ian it is actually wrong to compare the Y series Patrols with the 70 Series Cruisers as the 70 Series were never meant to be a rival of the Patrol Y Series.

Safari vs 60 Series Land Cruiser.
Y60 vs 80 Series.
Y61 vs 100 Series
Y62 vs 200 Series.

I can go back in history but I do not think it relates to this post.
I have owned several G60 Back in the 80`s and 90`s. I used to love my Patrols. The only against I have is that it is a Nissan product. Dealing with Nissan is a nightmare. Have owned several Nissan Hardbodies in the past and currently have two in the business. Pity Nissan killed their best product with a total lack in understanding the market.

They should have done what Toyota have done with the 70 Series. They should have split their range by keeping the Y61 as a workhorse range alongside the newer luxury range like the Y62 and Y63.

Unfortunately the Y60 and 61 will follow the path of the G60 Patrols, 80 Series and 100 Series Cruisers. They reach a point where the ones that come up for sale are on very high kilometres and the maintenance needed just don`t make sense buying them.
You will never find me without Stroh or a 4x4 :D

Doesn't matter. Not a proper Land Cruiser. You can sommer then include the FJ.

There are only 3 vehicles you can currently buy new, off the showroom floor with a Live Axle/SFA:
Suzuki Jimny
70 series Toyota Land Cruisers
Jeep Wrangler.

Edit: There is also the Jeep Bakkie, Navigator or Commander, but they are harder to spot than a Ford Puma or an honest ANC politician...

Think they've sold 6 in SA.

The 1st is frankly pathetically powered and the rest are stupidly priced.
The Wrangler however can be bought for a decent price when used.

Even though I'm a Wrangler owner, if I was looking at all the factors, an LC70 series would be my only choice if I had to invest again.
