I'd guess most Brands doing the Simpson would be Toyotas, mainly Cruisers & Nissan mainly Patrols.

Mahindra recently took a Scorpion N across the Simpson, sitting a record for the shortest time to cross the Simpson.....

Very interesting, they should actually expand on that info, would be interesting to see what causes these failures. How many are aftermarket/user error and how many are stock problems... Too many gadgets and too many idiots I presume is the biggest cause.

Chassis breaks. It comes as a surprize to me. May those Aussie trays they put on the back :lol: The other side of the coin I have yet to see an Aussie that understands dune driving.

Indeed. Mostly the chassis breaking is due to the addition of the air suspension coupled with heavy loads that extends too far back from the axle. Pumping up those aribags to handle the weight so the back doesn't look like it is sagging is the main issue. Next failure point is on the chassis right at the airbags, usually just in front of it.

we've seen those chassis issues in Botswana as well.
