If I get in the mood to do a lot of thankless work so I can spend weeks begging unappreciative, recalcitrant broke arse losers to attend a lekker event, I'll start a Thread.

But currently, with my broken leg, I myself, am out....

Maybe if Rechardt is so keen he should step up? We organise a yearly craft beer conference and even by promising prizes and free beer, you'd think we were asking them to endure open heart surgery.

Linda and I have always enjoyed the YEF and they don't need to be far from home like the Heidelberg event. (Net om die hoek)
This year is however rapidly drawing to a close so I guess that there is not much time left, but we do look forward to something next year.
We have had a rather full program this year anyway and can just imagine trying to get everyone under the same hat with regard to dates.
Regardless, wishing you all a great festive period and safe travels.....

Our venue is available if anybody wants to do De Wildt 4x4 and have a couple of pints afterwards.
There is accommodation in the area, or you can camp on the farm.

Hi Jakes.
Thanks for the kind offer, if time still allows.
The year is rapidly coming to a close and I still have a work trip to Botswana next week which effectively messes up two weekends.
I've heard so much about De Wildt but never been there, so a must for me.

I think we have run out time to prepare and or organize anything for this year.
Many folk are already leaving for their annual holidays from the 15th December and November is mostly booked and almost done.

At some point you stop begging, I agree..
Organizing a GTG of any nature is and always will always be a thankless job, but one cannot be ruled by unappreciative people.
If you organize a GTG or outing and only 2 people nor 3 people attend. You have accomplished much.
Do it anyway. Frankly most of us have camped solo and just been in the bush alone or with 1 or 2 other folk is better than any day in the office.
Unfortunately, the cost of living, financial burdens and the general ethos to make ends meet in an extremely fast paced life makes it difficult for many folk to enjoy the outdoors, camping and kuiering as much as we did 3 or 4 years ago.
Some work 2 jobs. Others have multiple income streams to manage overheads and expenses.
Not everybody is capable of arranging GTG's or outings.
We should never stop arranging these otherwise those that do the arranging will become just as stagnant as the unappreciative ones.
And that my friends borders on dictation.
