my 4x4 trail weekend(once a month)was this last one,and we went to loerkop.
brian(spelling ) there informed me that trail was cut by him, antony, jappie , peter(spelling again )..and few other guys.
trail map was drawn in a sand and explained
warning was given that if and when we encounter thriller(i think that is a name) to stop and check first...
..and we go..
trail feels as made with mixing marbles and sand.
slope to a left, bakkie slides to a left
slope to a right, bakkie slides to a right
on incline if i give to much power to a wheels bakkie stops and starts to dig in....
and than we get to a thriller...
still, while approaching it rear of the bakkie keeps on sliding down to a left ..
after few tries we stop and decide to to make a plan otherwise ill never make that left turn without hitting trees.
power of one man and pulley system was used to prevent bakkie from sliding left until lined up with a obstacle.(first part of video before cut)
once in position(second part of video) decision was made to reset rope and use same setup to guide bakkie all the way down....
new things i learned:
power steering resets wheels straight very quickly on slippery surfaces .
when slippery walk slowly or your b@lls will find rock slider
this setup was used before, but never this steep.
before all of that, many calculation were made..lots of papers regarding old sailing ships were read...and so on...
foot brake and hand brake were not used until all the way down
if anyone will believe it or not...but:
please do not try it if not 110% sure

We did Loerkop, I went with Ant & Japie etc of Off Course 4x4, who built the track.
It was wet. The play area was pure slime.
Then we did that wooded mountain route.
The side slope is scary.
I think that Obstacle is called 'Riller'.
But we all did it without needing recovery.

what can i say you are the best of the best of the best.
with a amount of bark missing, trees over there have story to tell that is for sure
scary part is until making it in line with riller, after that is just simple go down straight.
riller gave us opportunity to do a full test with ropes and pulleys and we took it
no recovery was necessary.
on our arrival
Brian(spelling)insisted i take his radio to call for help...
he was probably disappointed when i returned it later....sure he was expecting to fetch it him self
thanks are due for guys responsible making a trail....
