Why swim upstream and give yourself heartburn.
You book a slot on the Enatis system, arrive at the given time, and get the paperwork done. Last time I renewed my license it took me 20 minutes from parking to getting back to my car at Sandton traffic. After that they can take as long as they want to issue the new one. You might be lucky and get the new card sent to you.

I renewed my driver's license last year - booking at Centurion DLC. Was 20 minutes in and out. It actually took me longer to collect the damned thing than it did to do the eye tests / pay / get temporary license etc.

Although license and temporary license are most definitely a money-making scheme, the princely cost of them does not really concern me - I prefer having my things in order. I also spend more on beer over the average weekend day than the cost of a license... :)

There was talk about a new license even before I renewed mine. I was hoping I would get the new one, but no...

As with all things .gov.za, I presume that is going to drag on for several more years...

That would work if my province was even aware of eNATIS.........

Jakes the eNatis website and system works very well for bookings as well as vehicle licenses. There is even a section where you can report minor accidents for a case number that the insurance companies want. Last week I renewed 4 vehicle licenses at once on the system. 3 were for this month and 1 only expires next month. I did the renewal late afternoon on Monday and paid the R90 delivery fee. Mid morning on Wednesday the courier was at my gate to deliver the package. The 3 that expire this month had the 7th month 2024 and the one for next month had the 8th month 2024 on the disc's. I was impressed that nothing got cocked up and the delivery went as advertised. If only other branches of government could be this efficient.

You don't understand: we can't do bookings via eNATIS in North West.

I have to find a Gauteng office for that.

The License office in Centurion Highveld Eco Park is open 7 days a week, walk in, process it all and wait for the SMS to collect.
Easy as falling out of a tree.

And where is the Centurion office? Oh wow, in Gauteng, a mere 70kms from my house.

I go here:

A more acceptable 27kms.
Sadly the whole of North West has been declared a corrupt shit hole.

You are welcome to struggle through the queues and incompetence in Akasia.

I just shared a well functioning and user friendly site that has been opened and that will get the job do efficiently.
I have no idea where they sourced the people from, but it is a real fresh experience compared to other sites.

Driving 70 to 100km to either Centurion or Waterfall Park will probably save you some hours too.
