Firstly we did not go there to take photos and make videos, we went there to work.
Secondly, a photo of guys in a veld moving a rock or cutting a tree is not noteworthy except to Greta types who will then complain or critique.
Thirdly, only people who don't work take photos of their work.

Sounds like an awesome venue and track. Thanks for thinking of us ladies, and catering for our needs too.

Lots of reading Manny, but informative and thorough. I'm in for helping build. And I know a bunch of guys who would be keen. They're not AG members, but always keen for a working adventure!

For those of you driving lesser brands (crap that ain't Jap), there are a number of Golf courses nearby:

* Koro Creek Busveld Golf Estate (13km)
* Elements Private Golf Reserve (39km)
* Euphoria Golf Estate and Hydro (51km)
* Zebula Golf Course and Spa (79km)

So after a Saturday of Wheeling, on Sunday you can go fill 9 holes before heading home...

Great write-up. Would definitely be keen to join op 'opening' day.

What would the final setup idea be? I see you mention that there are obstacles made, but would they also have a bypass 'highway' seeing as the camping areas seem to be along the route? Or would the camping areas be accessible by another road and the 'track' a separate area?

Peet, you will arrive, stop at The Stables, pay & complete an Indemnity form then either go to a camp site & set up before heading out on the route, or just head up to the start & start straightaway (if not camping).
There are a plethora of roads on the farm, the4x4 route often uses these roads, but then you veer off to do the tough stuff & then either return to the same road or another road & so on..
Whats nice, if it any time you've had enough, you will soon find a road and head back.
The roads are often nearby, so you can do a section of the 4x4 only track and then find a road easily.
The 1st camp site is near the start of the 4x4 route, the 2nd one is about 1km in and the 3rd is on the 4x4 route, but about half way.
So I assume guys staying at the 3rd campsite would start from camp, do the 2nd half of the route & then go to the start & do the 1st half which will take them back to their camp.

Signage will be important to ensure guys don't miss sections.

Thanks for the clarification, that sounds like a decent setup then. If signage is correct an finding an exit easy, will make for a fun weekend getaway where your primary objective is to go camping, and then have a 4x4 route to go and play on. I feel most places are built as a 4x4 track, and the camping as an afterthought... Making a weekend of it and going to drive a 4x4 track as a bonus, can be much more alluring to some people. Uithoek was one of the campsites which I believe actually managed that criteria.

So in summary, it may become a very nice destination for the 5 or so people that actually still do 4x4ing.
Otherwise forget about building all the obstacles and build a few bird hides.
