I saw this in Hentiesbaai as I came from the beach - too good of an opportunity not to post it:

At that time I was barefoot, smelled of fish bait, sunburned and my face look liked a dried prune, yet when I wanted to have a beer at Manny's new joint, they said I was overdressed and threatened me with a fork.

Go figure...

I also worked through my old pictures and came across some pics of a trip us Nambians did back in 2013 (which Manny & Kie crashed).

Here you can observe the Manny in his natural habitat - talking absolute kak with someone else about a topic he knows nothing about and looking assured in the process:

This is me in the background chatting with Manny - You can't actually see us because Rainier's pens is in the way.

About three months later I did a quick trip to Rundu and over the evening had a wonderful conversation with the headman of the Bukalo village. He was so impressed with the legend of Manny, he had the constituency renamed in Manny's honour:

It was a great trip, Rainier (he is not a small person) invited me as Trip Company.
He arrived at 20:00 & we headed off, driving through the night.
The N14 from the West Rand takes you through shithole town after shithole Town for 500km.
Rainier (he is not a small person) stopped frequently to feed.
The border crossing was hassel free and we headed north to Naukluft.

The next night we met the Nambians, nice guys, but very German influenced.
They made me realise I'm not that racist!
Ricoffy (Willem) and his Maori wife Louana drove down in his 1300 Jimny.
They took care of us in a 'Ag Shame, they bought meat at Spar' kind of way.
A few days later Rainier (he is not a small.person) dropped me off at Windhoek Airport his wife actually landed on the plane I flew out on.
He and his wife continued the journey and I flew home.
All in all a very nice trip. Rainier (he is not a small person) and all the Nambians were great hosts
