Road traffic laws you would like to see
Driving down to Hartenbos for holiday last week, I sat and wondered which road traffic laws I would change, add and enforce should I have a say in these decisions.
You go first and let’s see if we all agree

I'd just like to see them enforced...........and fairly applied.
I have no issues with road traffic laws, most of them have been thoughtfully developed over years.
Sadly our new masters have this penchant to change speed signs without due process. They seem to think that a local municipality has carte blanche to change a speed zone on any road without getting it gazetted. Bribery and municipal fund generation comes to mind.
I also need to understand why we need local, regional, provincial AND national traffic police.
I also need to understand why and how they can violate a law that clearly states that they may not use unmarked vehicles with blue lights as official patrol vehicles.
Anyway...........

That you can shoot free range animals on the roadways
That you can shoot people overtaking on solid lines and yellow lines
That you are lawfully allowed to remove a guy's head when he cuts you off at a traffic light
No, I do not have anger issues.... OK!!!

We just need proper enforcement of already good legislation. The policing and prosecution of laws in our country is extremely poor.
Murder is also illegal in SA. We have about 70 murders per day. I don’t see 70 murder convictions per day in our courts.

Minimum speed for me is a big one. Nothing irritates me more than sitting behind grandpa on the highway when he is only doing 80km per hour.
Overloaded vehicles. I’ve seen a few heavily overloaded bakkies. It almost looked like the front of the car would lift any moment.
And then you the obvious laws of stopping at red traffic lights and stop streets. The Mr D and 60/60 bikes are my new worst enemies

I've been calling these reincarnated kamikaze pilots, Meat Missiles for a while. I'm on a WhatsApp group that links the local CPF and security companies to the medical response teams. A large percentage of the road accidents needing medical assistance is for these idiots.
I'd like the road regulations we have to be fairly and properly inforced.
