Recently got myself an attachment that fits onto the garden hose, to flush the inside of the chassis. We do a lot of beach driving so this comes in quite handy to flush out the chassis rail and cross-members. Also works great on the sump guard. Just attached and rinse.

That is a nifty attachment. The latest episode on the YouTube channel, Edd China's Workshop Diaries they clean and repair a chassis. It surprising to see how much silt comes out of the chassis legs.

Not just the chassis members. When I replaced the wheel arches, I realised I could probably plant potatoes in the silt that had built up inside the wheel arch... :o :o

Karcher also has a nifty pipe cleaner attachment that will work like a bomb.

I must see if I can find one for my little Bosch pressure washer. It's about 25 years old and still working perfectly.

Some nice trips around South East Queensland over the holiday period.

Did the D’Aguilar National Park 4WD track which was quite rough after all the rain earlier in the season...

Performed my first snatch recovery on a beach access track on a fellow Saffa. Definitely not something I'd recommend doing if you haven't done training on this.

Lots of backroad gravel roads. And a lot, a lot of beach and sand driving. Lower tire pressure = lower blood pressure

Finished it off with a 4 day trip to Moreton Island.

75min ferry ride from Brisbane... Quite a special place to visit, and will definitely return

A lot of beach driving on the World's 3rd largest sand island

Some nice shipwrecks on around the island

Not a bad place to wait in line (for the return ferry)

The pics above are one of the MAJOR reasons why I'd happily emigrate to Oz.

The tradesmen down under are quite well equipped. Nie lus vir sukkel nie

A lot of them will tow a trailer with their double-cab, where the trailer is similarly fitted out. But quite a few use a small truck as their workshop. Not only plumbers, but electricians, mobile servicing, mobile tire services etc.

Swambo had to attend a trade exhibition on Saturday and my son went fishing with his friend... I was left with my 6 year old daughter and the following instructions.
  • Get her to her dance class at 09:00
  • Keep her busy
So being the ever thoughtful father that I am, I decided to take her to the National 4x4 Outdoor Show, that was in Brisbane the past weekend. The perfect place to take the dressed up little dancer.

Now apart from the blistering heat and humidity, it turned out to be a great outing. Like them or not, but the Aussies can put up a show, especially around 4x4's.

The Royal Showgrounds was the venue, with the entire field being filled by off-road caravans, campers and a makeshift demonstration track.

Ineos Grenadier was on display. Had a nice talk to one of the Pommies on their display. Will see if I can add more pics on the Ineos Grenadier thread

Some South African products on display (Alu-Cab Troopy roof conversion)

Of course the guys from 4WD247 were also there. Massive queue to the meet and greet.
IMG_9366.jpeg
Then a few lifted 79's as well as a chopped 300

The guys from DMW had a chopped Jimny on their stand.

And one of my favourites was the LC39.5 (or Toyzuki)

For those that might be interested, a lot of wheelbarrow spares available down under. Can even do some upgrades on current models as well, plus buy a new tube if the current one gets a flat....
