4x4 Incentive/Motivational programs

#1

Post by Mad Manny »

4x4 Incentive/Motivational programs:

The Great & Glorious 4x4 Action Group has, over the years, launched numerous incentive programs.
The purpose of these incentive programs is to motivate, encourage & recognise those who 'get out there & do it'.

No other 4x4 body does as much to encourage the wider Off Road/Outdoors community to participate as the 4x4 Action group does.

Here is a list of the incentive programs:
(I'll provide links in post #2)

Ultimate Trail Master
1. 50 Trails Challenge (Cinquenta Conquistador)
2. 101 Trails Challenge (Cento e Um Desafios Conquistador)
3. The 7 Devils Challenge (Dos Sete Diablos)
4. The Extreme 5 Challenge (Cinco Extremos)

Ultimate Bush Master

Trip Mascot Challenge

The 50 Trails Challenge (where you need 50 Credits) & the Trip Mascot Challenge are within easy reach of any active Off Road User.
Hpe this motivates some of you to get out and do it!!!

A little info about each incentive program...

Ultimate Trail Master
The main one's here are the 50 Trails & 101 Trails Challenges.
Although 'Trails' is a misnomer, it's 50 or 101 Creditrs.
How do you get credits?
Well, there area few ways (you can read the Threads provided in the links above for full details) but...
1. Each trail you do gives you a credit (remember each venue only counts ONCE.
2. Camping for 3+ consequetive nights gives you a credi (one per venue).
3. Then other things like border crossings (outbound) etc give credits.

The treason for this incentive program was to get guys out there, but to get them to experiance many different venues.
Neil XJ Junkie was very active at Atlantis Dunes - but it was all he did. A one trick pony so to say.
Russell Venter gets out 4 or 5 times a year: Buts it's just a continuous loop of 3P (minus the obstacles), Spookspruit (now closed) & Hennops.
The 50 & 101 trails are designed to get guys like them to cast their glance wider.

Ultimate Bush Master
UBM is like an Ultimate Bear Grylls challenge (if Bear Gryllis was the real deal - he isn't).
We are looking for a guy who can camp, Wheel, Recover, Bush Cook, Make a Fire etc.
A real outdoorsman BushMaster.

Previous winners include guys like Flipside.

Trip Mascot Challenge
This is a fun challenge.
Get a mascot,
Take him on trips.
Post pics of the Mascot in nice outdoors settings.
Erno Kapp did a great job on a trip with a krokodil...

So, Rico4e, IanDVL, Jakes, Peet, Shane, Bogaards & Armandt (of Ross Outdoor)... draw up your list & post them here.
In fact, any Youtuber who isn't working on some of these programs is probably just a poser...
Draw up your list - you may only have 24 or 28 Credits, but it'll be a interesting fun exorcise...

I only had 24 when I did mine, then I remembered a few more & then I started earning new ones - now I'm on 98!

Incidentally, if I get to 101 I'll be the only person to do all 101 in the same vehicle...

Mmm, knowing you've done them and actually providing proof in the form of dates, photos etc could be challenging.... Even if it's only 11

So I'll dig around and see what I can come up with.

Impressive list Ian.
Can you add all the places where you camped for 3+ nights, please...

Note if you camped for 3 consecutive nights at 3 different sites on the same trip ut still counts as a Credit...

Looks like you'll end up with over 75 credits.

So if we get a lot of credits, what can we buy? Or are these just points in a game where the points don't matter?

I've amended my list showing camping things. I don't normally stand at one spot for consecutive nights, so these are only touring camping things.

I am not going to include the 10-odd days we stay at Klein Kariba and other similar resorts for the kids during the holidays. People will judge me...

Right so here goes:

Trails:

1. Private 4x4 trail just outside of Ventersburg - 2016 (I know - it doesn't count nor do I have proof)
2. Groenkloof 4x4 trail - 1 Sept 2018 - Hilux 4x4 Club.
3.Heidelburg 4x4 trail - 3 June 2019 - Hilux 4x4 Club.
4.Riverside 4x4 trail - 3 June 2019
5.Bundu 4x4 Trail - 29 June 2019
6.Berakah (x3) - 6 July 2019
7.Rock the Cradle - 4x4 AG - 15 May 2021
8.Baviaanskloof 4x4 trail at Makkedaat - Dec 2021.
9.DeWildt - 4x4AG - 9 July 2022.

Passes:
All done during the Baviaanskloof holliday december 2021.

1.Langkop Pass
2.Combrinks Pass
3.Holgat Pass
4.Grasnek Pass
5.Nuwekloof Pass.
6.Grootrivier Poort.
7.Studtis Poort.

The above were all in the Baviaans.

8.Hankey Pass
9.Carlton Heights Pass
10.Lootsberg Pass
11. Witnek Pass (Nieu Bethesda)
12.Paardekloof Pass
13. Goliayskraal se Hoogte
14.Perries Hoogte
15.Ravelskloof pass
16.Cockscomb pass
17.Rubidge Kloof pass.

Now I accept that the private trail amd a few of the passes won't count - but it sure makes the list look better!

Shane, there are 'Influencers' who have done less.

There are 5 or 6 around the Clarens area:
Lesobo
Moolmanshoek
Rebellie
Old Postal Route
Meieringskloof.

If you hadn't been a little bitch and had come to Uithoek you could have added Uithoek and maybe one other to the list.

But it's a good start.

Keep it going...

Ag Manny I love it when you speak foreign to me...

I'm saving the local ones for later. First want to see if I can make Moegatle.
