360 or 270

#1- A full lightweight custom size 8x5m Fly sheet cover
Or
#2- Ostrich/ Batt wing 270 only side of the Camping trailer?

#1 by commissioning a custom cover over the TTT covering 4m both sides of the trailer and 5m front to back stitched on to the top of the TTT
Advantage is large shade and cover in event of rain

Disadvantage 4-6 extra poles and pegs to carry with and the mission to put up after the TTT is opend
Due that it is attached to TTT it has to be put up when TTT is opened

#2 IF a bracket stand is made next to trailer for the Awning it can be used without opening up the TTT
Stopping next to.the road making breakfast or lunch under shade while traveling i

Disadvantages not as large shade as full fly sheet
And need a decent bracket built next to trailer

Give me your experience
Remember the idea with this trailer is to set up and break down in Minutes

The cost of both are very close to one another

#1 5x8m fitted to TTT includes a new enlarged TTTcover that the Fly sheet fit inside the cover
#2 R8370

a loose flysheet will take WAY longer than a dedicated gullwing awning to erect and to pack

Bugger you have covered the pros and cons.

When we went touring I used to remove the awning off the trailer because of the time it took to put that lot up.

Best to mount two brackets at each end of the trailer box and fit a 180 or 270 to it, depending on where the kitchen unit is mounted.

Cheers

Have a look at BZT 270 awning. Have a chat to Tinus. I have a 270(not BZT) and it is really great. The 'new' ones from BZT really impressed me. When touring Bots, it takes 30 seconds and you are ready. No need for poles etc.

Normally when you pitch on touring setup, you want shade to eat a brekkie or so. Don't want to be playing with poles etc...

Probably Eazy Awn 2m L by 2.1 out
With side-walls & front to make 4.2m room.
Will set u this awning so it can easily be also
Attached to side of LR.
I see prev video recommended Ironman Room.

I phoned those guys about the brackets >R3k … 👀
so I will probly have to draw up my own for CNC job …
Will be simpler and far less fancy!

I have a cumbersome long 3.0*2,5 awning which ,
on occassion, I will attach to far side of Landy.

In adding to much awnings & Tents etc
one needs beware one doesnt turn restful campsite
into arduous labour camp …

Need fold away awnings , with pref seldom needed
poles and guy ropes etc etc
Big 360 flysheet definitely not on my list …
