3 Provinces 9-11Sep 2022. "Mission Helshoogte"

Four of us left on Friday morning, each at our own pace to book in at 3 provinces early Friday afternoon.

We decided to be a small group, the4 of us have capable 4x4 vehicles and a lot of 4x4 off road experience.

1. Jacques in his Pajero V6 #Buksie.
2. Erno in his Fortuner "Kapptuna.
3. Henk in his Diesel build pajero "Missbitchie
4. Adriaan in his GD6 2.4D hilux "Dikgogo"

All with Dual lockers except the Hilux

Friday evening we all braai'ed together and decided to have a early night to be focused and energised for the day ahead.

Saturday morning we made our way to Hels hoogte via the newly build road which is a short cut. It took us 40min to arrive at the top of Helshoogte.

We then started walking Helshoogte from the top down to assess the correct line and remove big rocks and make sure we don't get vehicle damage. Adriaan in his Hilux then picked us up at the bottom to fetch our vehicles.

We then went down to the start.

First up was me in my Fortuner. It was a tough ride up the obstacle. Praying I don't lose a front CV. Made it to the top in one go.

Next up was Jacques followed by Henk. Both made it in one go.

Last was Adriaan who did very good going up and lost traction at the last tough step. With some guidance and trying a different line he made it to the top without being winched. We all were done with Hels hoogte by 10am. We then did the rest of the route doing the famous tunnel up and down.

With no damage to the vehicles we all had a great night around the fire and headed home on Sunday morning.

What a awesome trip!

Awesome stuff.
The four of you did very well.

I've heard of this new shorter direct route to HelsHoogte, but have not seen it.

I've done HH three times - but on two occasions I had to be winched the last meter or so.

Please post some pictures.

Nice, a lot accomplished and no damage sadness on the drive home.
I still need to get back there when it is dry one day.
