almost to become top view,or so i thought.

turning circle is enormous.to make one in the video
took some maneuvering forward and back until
forgetting where i am on the obstacle.

i did walk it before attempt.

length,with replacement bumpers and tow bar,....very long.
front one,if one takes a look on mahindra plates thread ,acts as a spear.
rear one acts as bulldozer scoop and tow ball plate as a spade.
in a video is narrow ditch and i went until all 4 wheel lost traction and spun free in a air.
im not unhappy about pikup.only giving a warning to what to expect and not to freak out if it happens.

mahindra bakkie is not made for obstacle course or tight trails.

This is normally an issue with all long-wheel base vehicles. Larger wheels / a lift kit should help in most scenarios. I would also recommend taking a different line - ie: approaching the obstacle at an angle and not head-on. I'm not sure what the towbar on the Mahindra looks like and neither am I sure if you've got a drop-plate installed. But my towbar (and drop plate, as the Patrol is considerably higher than the caravan) is easily removable. This makes a considerable difference in the departure angles. I have forgotten to remove it before a trail on the odd occasion (I think only once - Hennops comes to mind) in which case I've also ploughed massive holes in the ground behind the vehicle...

distance between center of rear wheel to drop plate,in straight line,1430mm
and this makes departure angle terrible.

Manny ill do some measuring and report back.

quick google search saved me measuring time.


The Ranger an approach angle from 28 degrees, a breakover angle from 24 degrees, and a departure angle of 27 degrees

Hilux a 29-degree approach angle, 26-degree departure angle

The Amarok has approach angle of 28° and a departure angle of 23.6° (28° without bumper)

Mahindra Approach angle, 34º. Breakover angle, 18º. Departure angle, 15º
Turning circle, 13.4m

and this makes it worse than other bakkies.
and this will not stop me from having fun.

Stock figures for a Y61 Patrol. Between lifts, larger tyres and replacement bars, mine will probably differ...

Breakover angle: 27
Departure angle: 31
Turning circle: 12.5m

But yes, there is that thing about horses for courses. A Y61 is not a double cab bakkie...

It would also have helped that you didn't put a big phallic tow hitch receiver on your approach.
