Watch the video. It's only 15mins

But in a nutshell:

LC 300 and a few other models on the Toyota showroom are stopped being produced until further notice.

Mr. Cadogan believes that the chip shortage and covid cards have been played and that vehicle manufactures should lay blame for shit like this somewhere else. I tend to agree with him

Sadly the large computer vendors also shot themselves in the dick.

IBM/Lenovo, DELL/EMC and HPE are all struggling to find components.

Strangely, not one of these 3 had ANY supply chain contingency plans....whatsoever, even after 3 years. Huawei and SuperMicro don't have the same supply chains.....and have no issue supplying compute and storage.

Mike, if you were aware that there are other brands, you'd know they are also suffering similar problems.
Obviously, Toyota, being the biggest brand in the US & the biggest brand in the entire world is hardest hit.

It's tough for a lot of industries.

Try phoning around for TLB's, Graders, Tractors etc. Most will tell you their order books are either closed, no stock till 2023, or we will let you know when we know

The Camry is heading in for a service tomorrow at our local Toyota dealer. Decided to make an appointment with the saleswomen to discuss a possible new Fortuner somewhere in the future. Very keen to help, although if I place the order now I will have my Thailand-build Fortuner in 10-12 months...

That is not because Toyota has problems, it's because Arsetralia is a shithole...

I don't mind waiting 10 months for a new vehicle... But one has to feel for those that don't have a choice where you need to replace a vehicle due to write off or theft etc. Really a tough position to be in then

Our Hino was involved in a head-on 3 weeks ago.

Neither Toyota, Scania or Volvo have stock.

Waiting period is around 8 months!

The farmer on out last hunt told us that he bought his wife a new hybrid Rav. She klapped a Guinea fowl. Toyota told her to wait 6 months for parts
