1) Not really a bakkie. It's a slightly stretched JL Unlimited with an open rear storage area. Not designed to carry heavy loads. Maximum load is 750kgs but I'd say the rear coils would be on the bump-stops. So maybe a crossover concept.
2) They were designed to be sold with 35 inch tyres. Selling them with 32 inch tyres compromises the vehicle in various ways:
- gearing
- breakover angle
My opinion is that it is a niche vehicle that begs for a lift and bigger tyres to become what it promises.

That diesel motor sounds impressive. Pity it is not available here.
As for the vehicle itself? Meh...

Agree on all points. What I like is that Jeep had the guts to build one, and then sell 250,000 units so far.......
We need more vehicle manufacturers like Jeep.
And it's a pity we aren't getting the new Bronco Raptor. I'd be tempted to own a Ford.........

That should come with 33's as standard, like the Raptor Ranger.
And they should have sold the diesel instead of the petrol. The sheeple in SA aren't petrol heads

Its nice, but it won't sell here.
1. It's a gas guzzler at R27/L.
2 it competes with the base LC 300 and the Grenadier.
3. It's a Jeep.
Only a complete wombat would buy it over other offerings in its price category.
But it's not a bad vehicle if you ignore reality.
I actually saw one a few weeks back - it's not a short vehicle....
Will be kak on a trail given its length...

1) Open road between 10L and 11L /100km, town driving 12-14L/100 ......... I doubt if the LC300 can beat that.Mad Manny wrote: ↑Tue Jun 21, 2022 3:03 pmIts nice, but it won't sell here.

2) More like the Prado. Only the top of range Rubicon is R1.3m, in which case it kicks their butts for value for money.
3) Nothing wrong with Jeep. The issue, like Mitsubishi, is the South African dealerships.......
I do agree about the length though.
