Glo Tech Spotlights

#1

Post by Shane »

So my SFA really has crappy headlights. I understand why the first lights were measured in candle watts!

Anyhow, upgrading the headlights is quite costly and I still have some money to spend on the rig so I opted to put some decent spots on.

I saw an ad on fb and the rest is history!

It doesn't take much to improve on the SFA lights but these have really impressed me!

Only 7 inchers - but they make some decent light!

The pic below is only with the spots on.ImageImageImage

Where did you get hold of a set? See them advertised quite a lot, never see much feedback. How would you stack them up to https://www.efficientexpress.co.za/shop ... ot-lights/ in therms of value for money?

When you have more lights than lockers....
Could this be sarcasm?

Well considering that I've managed to take out a Trophy njala bull (with my old BT50), had a narrow escape with a kudu bull and nearly saw my arse with a rhino bull - I'm more than willing to take my chances with the law!

I actually have fairly decent night vision - but there are times when the main lights just don't cut it!

With regards to the 5 year old niece - isn't that a namibian tradition? ImageImageImageImage

I'm not familiar with those - will have to go and have a look at them.

These are a little pricey - but I'm more than satisfied!

It's because they are not meant for you lesser beings Image.

As a matter of interest - why do you reckon that they are illegal?

I doubt that they adhere to SABS or euro (E) specifications.

I do not see the "E10/E11" marking on the lenses in any case.

I don't reckon, I know :D

There are a lot of legal requirements to fit LED aux lights, but in relation to your setup, regulation 181 of the RTA prescribes that when two or more lamps of the same class (in this case being headlights) are fitted on a vehicle, intended to emit light in the same direction, it must emit a light of the same colour. Halogen and LED bulbs do not emit light of the same colour.
