The new Corolla Cross vs the RAV4.
Have you seen how similar they are?
In SA the Corolla Cross comes in 1.8 or 1.8 Hybrid, whilst the RAV is either a 2.0 or a 2.5.
But in other countries, like the US, you get them with the same 2.0 motor.
The RAV is a lot more expensive, but check out the dimensions:
Dimensions - Cross vs RAV
Length 4460 vs 4600
Height 1620 vs 1685
Turning 5.20m vs 5.50m (circle)
Wheelbase 2640 vs 2690
Height 1620 vs 1685
Width 1825 vs 1855
They also have similar towing abilities.
The RAV has a much larger load area because of its slightly larger size.
You should see them parked side by side - very similar.
BTW, the Corolla Cross 1.8 is the same motor as the RAV's 2.0, but in the 2.0 it has a slightly longer stroke giving it more power & torque.
The Bore is exactly the same 80.5mm...

The Coralla Cross vs Rav is like comparing a Condor to a Fortuner or a Stallion to a single cab cruiser 4.2…
They are just not the same…

Sad to see that you and the wife have given up on life. My condolences Martin

We don't get the 2.0 AWD Corolla Cross, but it would basically be a slightly smaller, slightly cheaper RAV4 2.0 GX-R...

Kurt,
Shame you are missing the point, not changing anything on our life style,
The 4x4's will remain , this will be Esther's car.

Kurt, if I drove what you drove I'd shut up about boring vehicles, at least the Cross wont be used to deliver cakes...

I like the Cross.
Seems like a good little runabout and you have to give Toyota credit where credit's due.
But like most pretender SUVs, anything more than a pothole renders these runabouts superfluous.
