Think the ball joint problem on the Isuzu`s had something to with their torsion bar suspension layout. When I had my Isuzu`s it were and item I regularly replaced. Dirt roads shorten the life of the ball joints to around 150k km if you use OEM joints. Pirate ones does not see a 100k.
Also a week point is the front stabilizer bars. Broke several of them on gravel roads.
Manny I think it is just plain bad luck. Shit happens.

Wessel.is never right.
The bakkie with the buggered brakes, KB300TDi has done 214000km, it's a 2003 model.
The KB280DT who's ball joint went - that ball joint is 21 years old and has done 432000km.
No other brand is as reliable as Isuzu.

The Isuzus have a few repetitive problems:
The older ones, the fans give trouble
On the newer ones the airbag sensor wires have faulty connections, usually under the seat, hard to fix, but it just means you drive with the airbag warning light on.
The diesel motors are indestructable...
They are outstanding vehicles...

You & Kurt have a convoluted & nonsensical grasp of wear & tear vs reliability.
You fail to grasp the difference between wear & poor reliability...
Neither of you have put more than 100000km on a vehicle.
Yet you say a broken ball joint after 21 years and 432000km indicates a lack of reliability.
You two know not of what you speak...

Just an update.
On Saturday I arrived at the yard to dispatch my teams in our quest to repair, maintain & beautify our client's houses.
My brother had removed & refitted the slave cylinder after finding no fault with the master cylinder (Kurt & Wessel - this is the 11 year old D-Teq with around 233000km).
He said I should try it.
It seems OK, so I used it on Saturday morning - but not wanting to push my Mithraean Luck, I used Fearless to go check my Vanderbijl Park site in the afternoon...

Bad luck Manny. For a 18 year old Isuzu, it still looks good.

PS - Wessel doesn’t understand statistics. He believes that a sample size of 1 is enough to prove a theory, therefore he are an ID10T

Ai Wessel . You say Chas drinks a lot ?? What are you drinking
Isuzu is a well known brand for reliability. You might have had one dud , but that is / was one in 100 000.
Just my opinion.
Good luck Manny . I know how you feel . That Audi (POS) I drive to work and back also forced me to call Erin after hours

That is a week from hell, glad its over and that the Isuzu didn't get hit standing in the middle of that crazy intersection.
I'm glad you have 1 reliable vehicle in the fleet
