Ok so a couple of views but no replies - so let me give some background:

Found this unit on one of our tracks on the farm.

Generally not accessible to the public.

It's not ours, nor was it installed by the previous owner of my new Hilux.

Upon further investigation I found out it's a basic GPS that can be tracked via an app on your phone.

Tried calling the suppliers but seems they cannot afford someone to answer tge phone...

Now here's the interesting part - had two strips of velcro on. The one strip looks like it had some form of glue on the back. Technically, someone could purchase a few of these, stick it on your vehicle where it's not visible, and track you all the way home.....

Velcro makes it possible to remove and leave no evidence of the unit itself.

Yes, I sound paranoid. But imagine you found this in your driveway and it wasn't yours....

Thus my question if anyone here have any knowledge of this product.

would be a total waste of time!

I walk to my office every day - it's 300m from the house! And I don't leave the farm much.

Shane, I have no advice but I would not like to find something like this on a farm as a surprise. Make it public, let everyone close to you know that you find such a device even the workers...

Well that's just it.

I don't know if these things are RICA'd or not.

If not, you could potentially buy a bag full of these things, hang out at the mall, attach to vehicles carrying affluent looking people and follow them home......

The fact that you cannot get hold of anyone at the company concerns me.

Rica means nothing, the Porra Fruit&Veg shop down the road sells RICA sim cards without producing an ID...

I would not be worried about Trackimo. That device probably sends gps location to someone else. Open it up and remove the battery. Take pictures of the inside
