Thanks Paul very interesting video. I do agree that the Nord Lock system is above average. However when working for the old Iscor I were involved in maintenance of vibrating feeders and screens. The video have some flaws and are clearly earmarked for advertising. The have chose the perfect frequency for their add.

There are much more to bolts being used in extreme areas of vibration. First bolt grade. Secondly the holes needed to be reamed to a perfect size to size fit. In the end we did away with all threaded bolt and went to the Huck bolt system. Best performing bolt in extreme vibration conditions.

Totally agree Grips. In the aircraft game there are other types of lock-nuts that work very well in high frequency vibration areas. I like wire locking nuts or bolts where I can.

Nordlock is used exclusively on underground mining vehicles, they work the best and don't ever come loose unless something needs to replaced.

Huckbolt system on vibrating screens for sure. But they never get removed until the screen is damaged or rebuild. And they are destroyed during removal, no other way.

Is there a Süd Lock system for the Southern Hemisphere?

Henry I did not know if you have looked at the actual video. They clearly stated that it where invented to counter bolts loosening themselves when introduced to vibration.

Things I had picked up in their test is that the bolts is not size to size whit the hole.
Something critical to bolts installed in a vibration environment.

I brought Huck bolts into the scene cause their performance claims regarding vibration. In that instance a Huck bolt will out perform it. Yes I know the are not reusable but is highly vibration resistant.

That's why steel rivets is used on a vehicles chassis

Thanks Grips.
I am relating to my experiences in mining products, Telsmith Vibrating Screens by Osborn and LHDs by GHH. Those fasteners worked the best for those particular applications.
Cheers
