A WARNING: Taun Bewsher

#1

Post by Mad Manny »

I think most of the 'Ou Manne' here know the wood collector story from the 4x4 Forum.

It has flared up a few times over the years, but, lets face it, it's been flogged to death.

We decided it would not get mentioned on this Forum, however, a recent incident, splashed all over FakeBook got me thinking:
Would this fine Forum be remiss if a member of the Forum (& the Club), who did not know the story, made a booking and got scammed & there was no mention of it here?
I'm all for giving a person a 2nd chance & letting bygones be bygones, but unfortunately & sadly, Taun hasn't changed.

So here, briefly is the story:

Years ago a young guy arranged overland tours, as a tour guide.
He had issues with ethics & honesty.
He took a group of people on a trip.
Very early on in the trip he stepped out to fetch wood & never returned.
They continued on the trip only to find he had not made the bookings or arrangements.
There was a big HooHah & eventually the money was refunded.
But the horrible experience the people had, was not.

He pulled a similar stunt a few years later.

Now he has done it again.

I don't want to reopen the mud-slinging debate & we don't need to slander anyone.

This is just to warn those who may one day use this Forum for research & not be aware of Taun Bewsher's history.

I’m very involved in the MTB’ing scene here in CPT and read about his newest ventures way back in 2020 already. I should’ve warned people about him back then already

What about the people he's burnt going to the media like Carte Blanche or Devie's new show on ETV. I'm sure they will find lot's of things to expose.

His past has to catch up with him.

But hopefully sooner rather than later.

Just checked the link. I asked on one of their add's whose the tour leader, but they would not give me a name. Wanted to tell them I'm nervous it will be the Wood Fetcher but decided to rather just keep out of it . :D
