I would say yes it is definitely worth it, much better value for money than lets’s say (randomly) a lob-sided Land Rover Discovery 5 or even the new R1.3m “Defender” which has a tiny boot.
Flex is overrated

And yet the Defendera boot is narrowed but bigger than the cruiser? Ironically the D4 is bigger than all. I would say the Cryiser is worth the money only in Diesel format. Then economy helps but it is still thirsty.

621 vs 1025 with seats folded. Don't see stats when people are seatedKurtG wrote:What’s the new Defender’s boot capacity with 7 people seated in it? And what’s the 200’s capacity with 7 people seated?

No, in the US it is NOT.
The article is for the US market, referring to the US Land Cruiser, with the US pricing.
Well, the first half of the article is - the rest is just poorly written crap about buying a used Sequoia.
But in SA where our pricing is better & the motor is diesel & the competition so expensive the Land Cruiser 200 is a no brainer.
So if this was a US 4x4 Forum, aimed at an American Off Road User, then this Thread would be relevant & Frosty would have made a point.

But since Frosty opened the US door...
Here is a comparison between the 2020 US Land Cruiser V8 & th e2020 Defender P400 (the US doesn't get the diesel Defender).
You will notice that the 11 year old Land Cruiser V8 kicks the 9-years-in-the-making Defenders arse in almost EVERY category.
They don't mention RESALE - but the LC will win that too...

So I post an article saying the Landcruiser is good value for money and Kurt and Manny immediately turn it into a Land rover bashing post. Why? You think over stating crap makes it true?

The Cruiser is a bigger car ... like comparing a V8 130 Station Wagon to a TD5 110 one ,
... so affected comparisons they draw are irrelevant and generally ridiculous.
and Eg in the section :
“ Fuel Economy and Range. “ they say :
“ To lower fuel costs and make buying fuel easier, the Toyota Land Cruiser uses regular unleaded gasoline. The Defender requires premium, which can cost 20 to 55 cents more per gallon. “
... that’s your mags total comment on Fuel Economy and Range !!!!!
Yet...
they don’t actually compare the fuel consumptions
they don’t even compare the engine capacities (5.7L LC vs 2.2L LR ?)
they don’t actually compare the Ranges ...
etc etc
Please don’t ‘publish’ or propagate crap on this forum ...
