I doubt it, Fruit and Veg shops are very busy from 08:00 - 19:00.

My understanding is that the 6 hour rule is only if the vehicle is stolen...

I was for 5 years with one of the 4x4 focused companies and when my vehicle got stolen they really dropped me - Because I did not notify SAPS in 6 hours they declined the claim - now here is the kicker - I phoned the tracking company within 5 mins of realizing it was stolen - then I tried to call the insurers directly to find out what my next step should be on their regular office number - after 15h00 on a Friday I only got - "The number you have dialed is not available - please try again later" - Maybe they switch off their phones on Friday afternoons? On their web viewed on Mobile you can barely see their emergency number and only visible numbers are the regular ones - for office hours. So as a regular SA citizen surrounded by loads of people I was told I should be fine if I report it the next morning - because industry standard in SA is 24hrs to report a vehicle. So I am currently at the Ombudsman and crossing my fingers. I wish I could say who the company is but I may just sit with a lawyers letter - because that's how they roll.

Thanks Koos, appreciate the honest and informative post.
No need to mention names - pretty aware of the organisation at hand.

Ouch.

I know of a few claims that have been declined from them, and then some that were paid out which I would have found dubious.
