I was reading about those just the other day. Very intriguing vehicles.

I think you mean June?

I have the Go! Camp & Drive but I'm still waiting for the Leisure Wheels and CAR.

LW has a 4.2 Cruiser that had a 3.0D-4D with 150kW fitted that I'm keen to report on....

JUNE 2018

CAR Magazine of June 2018

Some fast platKarre on the cover.

They cover the year 2020 M3, the next Toureg (I thought it had been launched), the Tanoiak Concept bakkie, a Jag F or E pace (who knows?) & a Maserati SUV called Levante.

Then the upcoming RAV - no Diesels, greater ground clearance.

The Nissan Terra - maybe? Nissan can't decide...

Petrol Price stats - the state makes R120 Billion a year revenue from fuel.

New Models coming - Cherokee facelift, Renegade facelift, new Wrangler next year, new Duster, new Forester... plus lots of platkarre...

Then a ROUSH Ranger - gets the Ranger 3.2 to 190kW & 650NM costs R240k & includes a lot of Raptor Crap.

Then the ALL NEW G-Class. It is now Monocoque (not Ladder Frame) & is now fully independent (not SFA), but..
the G500 produces 430kW & 850Nm it will cost as much as 3 x V6 Amaroks!

There's a very nice looking Volvo XC40, but I think it's FWD.

There's an i8 Roadster (i8 with no roof) for R2.4 bar ?

Then a nice article on a1928 Mercedes Stuttgart 260 - 2.6 liter straight 6 wanking out 37kW & 135NM through a 3 speed auto.

Then a comparative test M5 vs E63 - basically a dick-measuring contest.

X2 vs E-Pace D240 - X2comes last.

E-Pace on it's own? - rather buy the GLC...

Some McLaren worth R6bar gets tested.

Then they test a Mitsubish Pajero-Lite 4x2 - they say it's better than the Fortuner, but not as good as the Everest.
But they do suggest dropping the extra R30k & getting the 4x4 - can't argue with that!

There is a Honda Jazz sport (Mike Nel) - they rate it last out of the Polo 1.0 & Mazda2 1.5

They also release the results of a 1 year long term test with the Mazda BT50 3.2 - they averaged 11.10l/100km (9km/l) over 20 000km.

A few Platkar technical issues that are very interesting.

If you are a platkar petrolhead - its not a bad issue.

Very NB:
Foton (Tunland) & Chery have both left South Africa.
So is you own a Foton or a Chery... you are screwed!

JUNE 2018

go! Drive&Camp

Skeleton Coast & Prado 120 on cover.

Plenty articles about new caravans (Off road & Platpad).

Forever Resorts in Badplaas & Warmbad have been revamped.

A write-up about the new XC90 from Sweden.

They give their impressions of the Maserati Levante SUV - it's a platSUV.

They drive the Skeleton Coast - bucket list stuff!

Then the Easter Cape Highlands - also nice.

Klien Karoo gets exposure, as does the Skurweberge & Baviaanskloof.

Then a TOW TEST of the new Disco5 - it does very well (the 3.0 V^ petrol with 250kW - no surprise there...
But it sucked a whopping 25l/100km (that's 4km/l) towing an Echo Kavango. So it's shit.

Then a fun thing - a VW Caddy Maxmo - basically Maxmo converted a Caddy into a camper

Then a controversial article on Bullbars - worth a quick read.

That's about it - they check out seat covers, basically Escape Gear is best bank for your buck, but M&M obviously rules...

R240k is for the conversion, you need to supply them with the Ranger...
