Censorship on social media, to a certain extent, is necessary. Censorship on a forum where a lot of the members know each other and/or share some respect, is probably less necessary or maybe even redundant.

We are all adults here. Imho, we will throw the odd insult but we know certain things would be in bad taste. Childish or EFF twitter bott like attacks are the ones which I do not think anyone on here would stoop to and those are the ones in need of censorship.

A simple example. We may mock Apoc as being an aging liberal hippy who has the physique of a feminist-rights-activist from afar... I would not make fun of what happened to his house though.

Social media is becoming a monster where there are, perceivably*, no limits to what you can say about someone else.... sometimes it is just petty....

*I say preceivably because technically you cannot say whatever you like about someone else, it could get you sued under certain circumstances.

This thread is unacceptable, not 4x4 related and will be deleted soon.

All above is true.
Mature guys who can dish out the occasional "dis" and the recipient takes it in food fail.
But mostly we stick to the topic which is technical an about our vehicles. No Trump and Johnson crap. Those are things we can do boggeral about so leave them be. At that level of intelligence anyway.
We been around the block and support one another unlucky other forums which one spelling mistake is pounced upon and give the death sentence.
We know where our limits are
If I dont know I ask and will receive a respectful answer
We are here to support one another.
It's all good

I think the real reason is that most of the members know each other, and a lot have been out 4x4'ing together.

We know who drives what, have drinks together, have the odd braai at a members house, but most importantly we go out and drive together and help each other out when we do get stuck.

The thing is, we don't do snake oil posts. So we don't make targets of our posts. We don't defend the un-defendable like D6 cranks that are allegedly 100% fine & complicated things like that.
I think the voices in my head also control me nicely. :P
