And people think Disco's are expensive.
When we has the D4D, the cost for a service was around R1K more than my D3, disregarding the stuff that I had broken

Dis glad nie sleg nie. Myne het hier rondom 2,8k to 3,4k geloop (laasgenoemde was vir die 90,000km diens)

I think a few things to keep in mind is that most modern vehicles have very little to do servicing it up to 100k km other than oil and filter changes.
After 100k km they are out off plan and warranty. My experience is that dealers push some wear items that needed replacement to the 100k km mark where it is not their responsibility any more.
Getting ripped of for a service is easy. But one need to make sure that everything that is up for replacement at 100k needed to be done. I knew a few brands that suggest wheel bearing, belt, tensioner and guide pulleys, cambelt with tensioners, diff and gearbox oils, suspension bushes. Around 100k km is also time to do cooling hoses and shocks if still equipped with OEM set.
Rather spend money at 100k km and have a proper service than a breakdown somewhere along the line. Think it is critical to not skimp trying to save money.
Example a 2.0l VW tdi engine need to have the water pump replaced with its timing belt replacement. Many skip this and do only the belt, some even skip the tensioners to save money. Then the water pump fails and the R3 or R4000. 00
suddenly becomes small money vs engine replacement.

You will never find me without Stroh or a 4x4

By Nissan, as ek iets onder waarborg eis, dan is dit gewoonlik "hoofkantoor" wat vol kak raak. That's not great. Normal oil services are around R1800.00 - R2200.00...
But, for Nissan, it's not bad.
Glad I bought the Isuzu though, may have cost R30 000 more, but, in addition to everything else, the first 6 services are free.
That's R15k back right there...
