Then you are not a Club.
You may be a business, a group (be it FB or WhatsApp or other), crowd, gang, Forum, etc.
But you are not a Club.

Many of these loose informal organisations do good and help get guys out there. But most are just "Hou my brannas and check die move" A-holes who give the real Off road User a bad name.

Easy way to tell: Does your group allow you to have a drink while driving?
If yes, you are in the shit causing A-hole group.

BTW a Forum can not ever be a Club.

As far as I can determine...

...The 4x4 Action Group is the ONLY National 4x4 Club, with no commercial overlords or commercial agenda, that is centrally run (no chapters) & is not a brand-specific club.

I think you’ll find that the 4WDC SA is the biggest that fits that description. The biggest individual club under that umbrella is the 4WDC-Cape, which is bigger than all the other chapters.

If memory serves me correctly, they’ve been going since the mid 1970’s. They’ve also got a close connection to ORRU & WSAR so many of their members are involved there to.

The annual Atlantis Funday is arranged by them which must over 1000 people

Yes 4WDCSA us a good club and the WC chapter appears to be the jewel in the crown...

What could be the reason for a club of 350 members to fold and it's funds to disappear?

I dont think any funds dissappeared at McCarthy.

It was at the AAWDC where curious, suspicious, bad things happened in the last 5 or so years of its existance...

We have a lot more than 20 who are active.

We had 5 at Atlantis Dunes two weeks ago.

In the US and Australia many clubs have less than 20 members...

But I take the point you are trying to make...
