Will just put this out here:

Wife's insurer wanted a tracker. So we duly had their brand of choice installed.
Within a few months, we started having issues with a flat battery. After our battery supplier replaced 2 in 3 months, they asked that we have the vehicle checked by an aut-electrician for parasitic draw.
You can guess what the culprit was.
Tracker was dutifully removed and placed carefully under the back seat.

The kicker is that it took the "tracking specialists" 6 months to figure out the unit had stopped working...........

I used to have all the mentioned trackers in various vehicles way back. They are all pretty useless.
on te Lux they fitted a Beamie, but it works with cell location only, so way out when finding it on the map.

I installed my own tracking devices in all my vehicles - small unit from Ezitrack - has a small annual fee. I can find and track my vehicles on their map with pin-point accuracy. it provides me with all the data I need, especially for the log-book for SARS. And I can see where and how others in the family are driving. Much better than any of the other tracking companies, in my opinion.
