For the Swakop Kunene trip need to carry fuel for about 900km - Terrace Bay to Sesfontein.
Most operators recommend 220L diesel and 250L petrol.
Did the trip a few years ago with a friend in a 4.5 L/C. Carried 180L in main and subtank and used an additional 60L.
But I guess this is an exceptional trip and a particularly thirsty vehicle

Well like the recent Botswana trip I carried a extra 2 Jerries with - not filled All the time for the 2 stints where distance was vast


I'm Using the Trailer the first time this comming Weekend and will be " Reverse Parking" to try and determine average fuel consumption on my Touareg Highway towing

Obviously not same as sand towing but will give me a good indication on what to Expect

Then use this info on trailer planning
