Chas, Hilux is a name like Defender.
Revo was the name used in other markets to distinguish models.
So you had the Hilux 1st Gen, or Hilux SFA (last SFA) or Hilux Vigo or Hilux Revo etc.
In much the same way you had a Series I or Series II or Series III or Defender or Puma or...

Clear?

... from a Series 1 to a Defender Puma ,
there were persisting typical characteristics ...
asp. in the bodywork but also across the span,
and the progressive evolution over time...
One could see ones looking at a family progression.
NO SUCH THING WITH HILUXs
Comprendez?
P.S. I thought a 'GD6 Revo' was a thing from 'Star Wars' !

Hilux is the name Toyota use for their Pick Up in all markets except the US where it is Tacoma.
All Hiluxes are Toyota pick ups. Buyt yes, they evolvedover the years. If the Defender had evolved it would have survived.
The Taro was a Hilux with a VW badge. It made VW think they could build a Pick Up.
The Amarok proved they can't.

But Chas, surely you would use your hand to change the gears on the column gear stick?BushWacker wrote:... Kurt ... you too young to Know,

Chas meant Column Shift, the correct term for a Steering Column mounted Gear Lever....

yes , thanks Manny, ' Columnn shift' is better description.
back tp topic:
where/when one has roof gutters roof load mounting
and load limits tend to be better... imo.
One can place load bars such that the gutter brackets sit above the roof supports eg above the column between the Drivers and rear window etc and not above the windows.
Even better is to have a continuous roof-rack rail on either side of the roof rack that fits the full length of the roof gutters.
Unfortunately many/most cars these days dont have roof gutters and it seems roof rack loading is presumably more of a limiting challenge.

The other solution is to buy an MPV (like a Touran, for example) with enough interior space so you wouldn’t have to go through ALL this trouble of starting a thread, researching Ronny Dahl videos, listening to Chas bleat on and on and on about gutters etc.

At Chas's age, he just has to hold on to his member and let auto-pilot do the rest.

I have had sleepless nights on putting a rack on my car or not ,
For Jimny owners this is a good read .
I have decided if anything load bars will serve me well for the light few odds i need, if any .
