Taxis will be operating on a pay as you go system.

If they run low on points they will pay over some cash to a cop on the street and get points in return.

ImageThe AARTO (Administrative Adjudication of Road Traffic Offences Act) will be implemented nationally from 1 July 2021.

Every driver starts with zero demerit points on his/her driving licence. If 12 demerit points are accumulated the driving licence will be suspended for 3 months.

A driving licence may only be suspended twice after which it will be cancelled.

I was actually a paying member of OUTA - then Cockup happen... err Lockdown happened.
So I stopped.

But I will rejoin and start paying again.

In fact, I'd urge everyone to do the same.

There are very few organizations who have your back - the one's I listed above, as well as Afriforum, are amongst those that are worth supporting....

Even though I’m pale and damp at the moment, I haven’t stopped my monthly debit order to OUTA, it’s worth all 4 of the £ that I contribute every month
