New SUV for my in-laws

#1

Post by Erin »

My in-laws want to replace their 2005 Hyundai Terracan.

Looking to buy new.
Must be an automatic.
Must be an SUV type vehicle (4x4 not necessary).
Must have some element of luxury (leather seats etc).
They have no mechanical sympathy whatsoever.
Must a decent warranty (most vehicles these days do I'm sure).
Must come with a decent service and maintenance plan.
Must be petrol.
Budget between R350K and R450K.

They have looked at the new Hyundai Tucson.

Any suggestions?

I would take a serious look at the Mazda CX-5 and the Subaru Forester, the 2019 model comes out now and it starts at R419,900.

Flex is overrated

Their car lasted them 13 years. Obviously it was a good buy. Maybe stick with what they know. The Huyndai is a good car with good warranty

There’s a big saving on these. 6 year/150kkm warranty.

Worlds best selling SUV.

I don’t think they should. They’ll tend up paying much much more for a worse spec.

This is why the XTrail outsells the RAV4.
