GripMax tyres

#1

Post by Shane »

So this past winter I spent a lot of time fighting fires. The original tyres that were on the bakkie were shot and I needed new ones.

Due to the fact that we often fight fires in koppies with very rock areas - and a firefighting unit weighs close to a ton when full - I was looking for something with a decent sidewall.

Our local tyre yocals recommended the GripMaxes.

Technically they are listed as All Terrain tyres - despite what's written on the sidewalls.

Cost was around 3k/tyre IIRC and I must say I'm very impressed so far!

I have done around 10 000km's so still too soon to comment on mileage - but they have been superb in the mud!

As previously mentioned we have had a LOT of rain since the beginning of december and I have been up to the cattle many times without getting stuck once!

Shane, at R3k per tyre, if they serve you well & last past 60 000km - then you've done well.
When Powertrac came out they were also well priced - but I've read wildly differing reports on their longevity...
