ORRA User Authority Application Process

#1

Post by Mad Manny »

The following process is to be followed by NEW & EXISTING CLUB Members when applying for a ORRA Radio License (User Authority) for the 1st time:

Manny &/or) IanDVL are the Radio Administrators for the 4x4 Action Group.

ORRA Radio License Application Procedure.

Procedure to apply for a license for your VHF radio with ORRA (Off-Road Radio Association):

1. Request a Membership Certificate from the Radio Administrator of the 4x4AG (see below).
2. Print the ORRA application form (see link below).
https://www.orra.co.za/downloads/Applic ... mClubs.pdf
3. Complete the form, scan it, scan the Membership Certificate & send both to Rina at admin@orra.co.za.
4. You will then be sent an invoice from ORRA.
The fee should be around R180 per year for the license (User Authority).
5. Pay the amount & send the PoP to admin@orra.co.za.
6. On receipt of your fees ORRA will issue you with a radio license and call sign. You will be sent a sticker and letter via post as well.
7. There is a 4x4AG Radio/ORRA users Whatsapp group, if you are not on the group & would like to be, contact Manny.

Remember to renew annually – you should receive a reminder, but it is your responsibility to remain licensed.

NEW Applications take 7 to 10 days.

Please rather contact Frosty via e-mail, only call as a last resort.

If you need any assistance with the above, contact the club Radio Administrator via e-mail for more help.

The great thing with doing the radio license this way is that it's valid for South Africa, Botswana and Namibia. Getting the license from another forum doesn't get you access to other countries, only South Africa.

I have had a massive thunk regarding this. In a week or two you will be able to download your own membership certificate from www.4x4actiongroup.co.za

I will post about this here when the development is done.

Thanks, Ian. Hopefully you will make it easy enough for us confuser-illiterate members to get our certificate.
