Erin, what does the vehicle’s manual say about the recommended tyre pressures? 3 bar seems way too high and could explain your punctures.

Also note that you can’t take what SAXJ says with any seriousness because he drives a vehicle that weighs a quarter of your bus’s TARE
Flex is overrated

That would imply that I have / will RTFM. Image

I quite like the price of the Firestone’s. What sort of mileage do you out of them?

I had them on a JImny, which is quite light on tyres. Probably in excess of 80000km on a set.

I always saw the Goodyear Wrangler as the best "compromise" AT tyres on the market. In the 5sets I have owned, I think I only had two punctures and got about 60k + km on a set.

Considered the fact that someone may be sabotaging you?

This Thread is like asking what brand of fuel should you change to because your vehicle is very heavy on fuel when the wife drives.

Changing brands is not going to solve the problem.

BTW: we run our Goodyear Wranglers at 2.4 to 2.8 bar.
I do think 3.0bar is way too high for the bus.

Goodyear Wrangler R2,100
Firestone Destinations R1,600

I'm leaning towards saving the R2,500 (for 5) and going with the Firestones. I will RTFM and run them at lower pressures.

My 130 ran between 3 bar and 4.5 bar on BFG MTs depending on how heavily it was loaded, and never had any issues. It did come in at close to 4 tons fully loaded though.

I have the Firestone destinations on my Everest ( the previous model).
So far done 60K km in 3 years and still and quite a bit of life left in the tread.

As far as I can tell there is two versions of the destinations. Both are AT tread pattern but one has a higher load rating.
one is 111s and the other 107s. I have the 111s version.

When new they are quiet for an AT tyre but as they have aged (from ~50K km) they have started get a noticeable rumble above 80km/h and they don't quite have the same stickyness in the wet that they used to. Not dangerous in any way but just not quite as good which to be expected in a 3 year old tyre.

I am quite happy with them and will be fitting them again when this set are done.

My conclusion: with the way your wife (boss) drives, you need these tyres for the bus (or whichever car she drives):

I saw solid forklift tyres that might do. They’re would really stuck the consumption though. Image

I need a spreadsheet: cost of diesel vs cost of tyres and aggravation.

Did I say that out loud...please don’t tell the boss...

rather: go 4*R2100 wranglers
and 1*R0 of your best existing as spare
