A question about CAT/CATS
Had the Cats removed yesterday (won't mention which vehicle)
I have noticed that the temperature gauge sitting a bit higher than normal. So the my question is, 'Is it normal for the car's temperature to be slightly higher after the removal of the CAT/CATS?

Normally your car runs cooler because the hot gases are getting out faster. Running hotter probably means your ECU is confused by what it is seeing and your Air/Fuel ratio is out.
Sadly don't own an offroader. It's too flat living on a small island.

Let us know how long until the engine light comes on, if the car is running hotter its not happy and something is amiss.
I would guess the vehicle not mentioned, as posted above, will most likely need a mini CAT/CAT fooler (approx R850ea)

Take it to Maniac. They have a method of not needing a CAT fooler.
Mine doesn’t have one. They just reinstall the original oxygen sensor. Simple.

That doesn't work because the ECU is expecting a different reading from the sensor before the cat and the sensor after the cat. With no cat, both sensors give the same reading and the ECU freaks out.

Especially if you guys know which vehicle it is
Anyways. The temperature stays the same, so not to worried about it
I do however see a remarkable saving in fuel. It went down from 11.4km/l to 12.3km per liter.
I will only properly judge this after a tank or two and not after a few 100 kilometers

The best de-Cat for an FJ or 200 Series is a full de Graaf free flow system. You need to change the exhaust branches as well if it is an FJ. Did I mention a TRD or Safari intake kit.
Mike have edited my post hope it will cover the right vehicles now
