Well priced solar regulator

I found this on Takealot:

Just remember that this is a pwm regulator and not as efficient as an mppt

PWM regulators are just fine for camping set-ups.

Pwm will suffer an approximate 30% loss.

So your 100w panel will only provide an effective 70w etc etc.

Also, pwm does not handle overcast conditions well.
MPPT is a better, albeit very slightly, more expensive option.

I may be wrong, but this is what I've been told whilst putting together my solar setup.

MPPT's are said to be 30% more efficient than PWM. That does not equate to 100w panel only giving 70w.

Ah my bad.

I obviously did not pay close enough attention to the salesman.

At least the 30% was right.
