Good evening guys. We want to go on the ysBeer trip. What tent do you suggest to use in very cold and snowy conditions. I wanted to sleep in my Jeep, but they suggest atherwise. Please assist.

A canvas tent will be better than nylon but I’m not familiar with what is best

Canvas best to be warm and in farly high wind but would be wary if gets wet in Snowy conditions ...
I would make sure you've got good sleeping bag, good Groundsheet/s (newspapers under mat in tent?)
But if you have a good sleep bag I wouldn't hesitate to sleep under my canopy inside my bakkie with proper undermat/mattress...
... I once camped in canvas dome
in gale-force wind at Tiffendal in Winter !
Wind and rain blew so hard against tent
water atomised through it as mist inside ...
Second night on we booked into hotel ...

I would go canvas and if it worries you wrt atomized water creeping in, then get a water proof nylon cover to go over the canvas tent as added protection. Purchase - 10 to-20°c sleeping bags, foam mattress and do apply in grams cream to face to keep help warmth in.

We used to put silver sheeting underneath out mattress in snow. Worked like a charm.
Warm sleeping bag, gloves, and a beanie for your head. Don’t forget the OBS

When we camp in Lesotho during the minus plenty months. Canvas tent. Stretcher so you are well off the floor. A blanket below the sleeping bag, and a good quality sleeping bag.
