Leaking Steering Box

#1

Post by Chris Stoffel »

The other day, to my absolute horror, I discovered some oil drops on my driveway. It turned out to be the steering box that was leaking oil.
I was flabbergasted to tell the truth.

So I consulted The Voice and She suggested I remove the oil and pack the steering box with grease. Is She right?

Edit: I forgot to mention it is the Samurai steering box. The Jeep Steering box stopped leaking a while ago as far as I know.

Is it good at stopping leaks?

Why not break a raw egg into the steering box?

Oil is a liquid. It leaks past the seal. Hopefully the grease won't leak past the seal but it will still lubricates.
Raw egg will also leak past the seal stupid.
