I had the privileged to work on a real 2 stroke diesel. :D

Detroit v16 that powered the old Wabco haul trucks.

and, unlike some others, I am sure you know why you don't need to add 2SO to diesel if you are running a 2 stroke diesel!

Always used Castrol R with the pre-mix motors in the 80's but moved to Motul 2 stroke with the RD350, RD350 and RZ500. Never tried it in a 4 stroke motor as I don't listen to Witch doctor's.

I have an old RR Classic and the steel feed pipe
portion from the filler cap rusts on the inside 😮
... so I now add a little of the golden nectar
as a protecter (but is also an octane
increasing fuel itself?) and also a little meths
to reduce the water in the fuels sold to us ... 😬

Chas, you are adding 2SO to Petrol.
But rather add diesel if you want to achieve what you are attempting to achieve...

There is some hidden wisdom in 2SO discussions:

Or rather peculiar similarities.

99% of the time, a guy that uses 2SO in a modern diesel engine also tosses while taking a bath.

I have just read a thread on another forum where a wet tosser (see reference above) claims 2so reduced carbon build-up on his exhaust manifold.

Then, when other knowledgeable members take him to town on this brave stupidity, foul play is called.

How else does one reply to a muppet other than to buy him another ice cream and take a video?

The part that concerns me, is the amount of evedentuary weight placed on his "facts". From a scientific point of view, hell from a professional point of view, one can only come to one conclusion: He uses statistics as a drunk uses a lamp post - for support rather than illumination.

Not needed, but thank you anyways.

I was merely stating the obvious.

We all thought it anyways.

 Excellent best description I have seen on the 2SO user mentality yet.

It also describes the pissyness they show when called out on their nonsense postings, aka wankers.

Well done sir!

Which is one of the biggest problems on a certain unrelated forum, pissyness is taking over.

Really a pity :(

Nice engine that.

If you want to see the difference in lubricant properties between 2 strike oil and something like chain saw lube, put the 2 stroke in the chain saw lube tank.
Use the chain saw, and then go buy a new chain and blade  , I have actually seen this.

And no it was not me :D
