Here is an article in the latest "Unsealed 4X4" online magazine to stir the pot about this debate.

To be fair, it never was a debate.
A debate presupposes:
1) two intellectuals
2) engaging in an
3) informed
4) formal
5) argument
6) about a topic.
Prophets of using 2SO as an diesel additive usually only complies with the 5th requirement.

I really like the line in that article that says:
You’re probably better off adding some sort of high-strength cleaner instead – there’s evidence around to suggest that stuff does work
Sadly don't own an offroader. It's too flat living on a small island.

I still use 2so in my diesel and I believe it helps.
We are also working on a additive for the diesel, in the Uniglide range af products that are coming.

Someone once commented that he has noticed that Diet Coke makes you fat.
I asked on what he bases this observation.
He said hed never seen a thin person drinking Diet Coke.
This is the same research base used for 2SO.
The term is 'Anecdotal'...

Personally I don't think it is iseless crap. Not if a set of D4D injectors cost R24k. Plus whatever the recovery fee is and what the susequent damage to the motor is.
Then there are idiots that believe the the manufacturers are out to save you money.

... perhaps the most interesting and useful insight from the article on Sasols 2SO research is that most such corporate lubricity research is not made available in the public domain...
... strange that ... me wonder why ... ???
... there are so many aspects and so much dis/misinformation etc do we know the answer ?
... I certainly dont.
... only know that Sasols ‘research’ should be automatically regarded as suspect and biassed
... bit like VWs emissions research !
... furthermore consider the three main parties involved :
the vehicle manufacturers
the fuel companies
the car runners and buyers
... the first two dont want to find or tell bad news about modern fuels and lubrication
... and the third dont want to hear it .
