Unusual Spanners

Thought I would show you
the wheel-spanner
that came with my 1975 Series 3 88”
Each of 4 legs is 40cm long ...
but I think its an exotic ...
doesnt have that Land Rover look ...
... could prove useful in road-rage encounter ...

I would prefer using one of those with good leverage. The saving space crap you get today is useless

I'm using an imperial size socket on the Disco's wheel nuts. It is a much better fit than the closest metric stuff.

I think at least 50% of LR spanners are not normal.

Front diff on the D3 is uses an Allen key to check the level, all the allen keys I have are either too short or too long. Had to modify one to work

Here is a photo of the 1-1/16" socket that I use. Perfect fit on the wheel nuts.

I have made an identical tool as in the pic`s to insert spiral clips in pistons.

Also made this little thing to accurately measure top dead center on an engine with the aid of a dial gauge.

Collected the spanners for the Land Rover Td5 motor I had lazer cut. The 2 smaller one's are for the 2 different types of oil filters and the bigger 2 are for removing the viscous fan. Cost just R690.00 instead of importing from overseas.
