I have 285/70/17’s on the Cruiser StMaxx Coopers

My spare wheel is the same size but a MT tire

Should I need to change a tire a use the MT spare, would I have any issues? I don’t think I should as the sizes are the same

It shouldn't be too much of an issue. The different tread pattern may cause issues with hard braking or with wet road handling.

It will cause windup and you will have problems.

Best would be to throw all 5 away and fit BFs

It will only cause windup if there is no center diff or the diffs are locked and it is driven on hard surfaces with good grip (tarmac, etc). An open diff does not wind up - it is designed to allow for speed DIFFerence between the output shafts.

Mike is looking for a reason to fit BFs.

I'm trying to give him one

It won’t cause wind up if the overall diameter is the same. If there’s a slight variance then just let some air out of the taller tire.

Interesting
Hopefully it would never come to that. And in the event should it happen, hopefully I won’t have to far to drive
