Range Rover Classic Fuel Circuit

Range Rover Classic Thread.

This is a RRC thread to cover stuff relating
to work I get down to doing on this vehicle.

Its an old 1981 2 Door ‘ SWB 100’’ wheel base ’
and of late Ive been re-doing the fuel system.
Filters were clogging up and SUs getting blocked etc

So took tank out and took to Silvertons in Stijdom
Park who cut tank open along seam sandblasted it
then welded up again then sealed with some fancy 3M sealant (‘also used in aircraft tanks’)
Ive replaced some of the piping , pump, filters etc an
and now addressing rusted ful link pipe between tank and filler cap.
For some reason LRvr used steel 😳 here !
Photos attached.
Will get flippen thing galvanised if I can else seal.

These tanks and fuel system seem to be very prone to rust problems, my filters are always getting clogged up, what did silverton charge you to do the job?

Almost as much as a new ‘pirate’ plastic tank from Phillip Glynn ... R800 to R1000?
