As per my reply on the "other" forum.
Rather just buy a ball joint that has the facility to grease it.
Even if you successfully drill into the outer housing without damaging the surface of the ball, there won't be any channels cut into the internal face of the bearing surface for the grease to spread evenly around the joint. There's a bit more engineering required than just drilling a hole and fitting a grease nipple.
