So we towed the boat with the ranger just to the Vaal. The day before the boat was AT Supa quick the whole day. We did everything, new wheel bearings, adjusted my tow bar height.

Got all the lights t working and pumped the tyres, adjusted the brakes.

I thought everything was perfect but I will have to replace tyres now as well.
The tyre is not a pretty picture.

I did think I can repair the puncture, what do u think?

If Bob was your uncle the Zim people would have bought you a new boat and trailer instead of changing the tyre.

tomorrow this adventure starts.

Bakkie is 90 percent packed.

Everything that I could think of is done and I have some spares.

The challenge is not if the Hilux can tow it. The concern is long up hills and down hills.
Passing slow trucks on the single lane roads.

Got to Graaff Reinet Safely.

No issues with Hilux except I am sure there is a fuel leak. Two tanks from Joburg to hear and normally I get here with one tank.

Tiring day but all safe and well.

No serious drama.

OK so I figured out the gears while towing.

If the obc says 3 km per l then 3rd and 4km per l is 4thand 5km and more per liter is 5th.

Thatโ€™s fairly high consumption but then you were towing a large rig.

How was the wind? I always find that with my luck we have a headwind down to PE or EL and also when coming home, not sure why but it really affects consumption even if it is only a side wind.
