It doesn’t work in practice. Image
It does work. Jacojeep rebeaded Shrek's tyre at Wolwekloof using a tin of spray paint and a lighter.
Yeah. I've seen many Youtube videos on it.
Personally, it's something I don't have the goons to do

It wasn't anything near as dramatic as some of the videos I've seen.

Was the wheel/tyre on or off the vehicle at the time?

I’m yet to see a video of it being done properly whilst still on the vehicle.

Technically it does work, but you need the dexterity of an octopus high on meths and wonga🤣

Once its seated you better be ready with a decent compressor and already removed the innards of the valve! Otherwise it will just cool down again and debead itself again!

Someone mentioned ratchet straps around the circumference of the tyre which has never failed me, I would stick to this method, will keep the accessor happier as well🤣

I think this describes Jaco quite well

I'm pretty sure he removed the valve first.

As mentioned, you won’t need ratchet straps following my method.

As far as the chemical method goes, it’s not practical, wise or particularly effective.

Again, not many videos of it working while on the vehicle. The tyre tends to go down straight away unless you know the exact amount to spray. You can’t regulate pressure with fire.

The reality is that dedeads mostly happen in mud or sand. So the bead first needs cleaning anyway. The other reality is that you very seldomly get a tyre totally free of the ground, especially in sand after jacking the vehicle.

I'm usually driving, directing, recovering or fixing. No time for silly things like pictures and videos.

I use a can of spray paint. Works all the time. Axe is also a good repellent. I only lift the vehicle to take pressure off the tyre.
