... but I drilled the first set of 4 base holes
already and ... somehow ... all of them
are true to enable neat bolting.

... but winch is too far back from vertical
face plate ...
(see top down view in 2nd photo below)
... will drill another 4 ,
in due course, and fix that.

Now will lay out heavy wiring and perhaps isolator etc as per prev posts

It’s made of aluminum, can’t be heavier than 750kg
Flex is overrated

With a GVM of 3.5 Tons I think a 4 ton winch is a little light.

OK Victor ...
... not sure how close I actually get to loading to 3.5t GVM limit ... will have better idea after our WeighBridge day next Year !
I made the winch box so I can alternatively
fit my 1975 8274 winch but not sure of its
pull force.... maybe also about 4t ?

If stuck solid ...
...may have to use pulley system set-up.

According to Warn's site your winch should be rated at 1.5 x GVM, so a 12000lb would be more suitable.

My HC Defender 130 is heavily sprung etc
with a kerb weight of 2.1 tons
and a GVM weight of 3.5 tons
implying a load of 1.4 tons (66% of kerb!!!)

my Winch pull force is 4.1 tons
... dividing by 1.5 gives 2.73 tons winch ‘limit’
less the kerb weight of 2.1 tons
means I can get by if 630 kg or less is loaded
... if I use this winch...

compare to:
GVM - Kerb for a landcruiser S200
which is about 650kg
but heavier duty Land Criser Bakkies
do have load specs up to 1.1 tons ...

... So thanks ... yes Im cutting it fine !

1.4 Tons is a decent load capacity - You can carry a fully loaded Jimny, and still be fine at the weigh bridge :D

... so my charging battery sits under the passenger seat and so I will need 2 to 2.5m of heavy chord 😬 for positive feed to winch ...
if I brass bolt two lengths together , say with
copper washer between the lugs ...
am I asking for trouble under full load on the winch ???
🤔🤔🤔

Why would you want to add another point that you need to insulate and can cause a high resistance in a long cable. Rather go out and buy the correct length of the correct gauge of cable to do the job properly.

Chas that joint will be fine, but rather come past my place and I'll give you a piece. I've got a piece of 0 ga about 2.3m long and a piece of 2/4 ga about 3.5m long.
